CityCarbon.com is a hosted application for displaying carbon footprints and increasing environmental awareness among energy consumers.

We import and combine consumption data from several sources to create an intuitive map of carbon footprints, with an easy-to-understand ranking system to let consumers compare and compete.

The CityCarbon software has several goals:

• educate consumers on the relationship between energy usage and carbon footprint
• provide consumers with tools to help reduce usage and footprint
• provide utilities with an branded solution to communicate usage and footprint information to their customers
• provide technically minded consumers tools to easily analyze their usage data however they wish

The CityCarbon.com software is designed to be customized for a particular city, county, township, or any related group of homes. Though it is still in early stages, a beta is available at http://gainesville-green.com.
